Will a 1965 GMC 19500 GVW Cab fit a 1965 Chevy C-10?
I came across a solid original 1965 GMC stripped cab that I am thinking of purchasing as a replacement for my rusty 1965 Chevy C10 cab. I cannot find out anything on this cab, but it has a VIN number of "V4008 F12345E" From what I can tell, the "E" stands for GVW of 19500. This is supported by a GMC sticker on the firewall stating the truck was 19,500 GVW. Aside from that, I cannot find anything on the VIN and don't know what kind of truck this came from.
That aside, attached are two pictures of the cab - the interior dash is different, but I can remove mine and install it - if that is the only difference?? On the exterior, the hole for the steering column is circular and there is a bar across the transmission hump. Also the inner fender well mounts are a bit different. Does anyone know if this cab would be a good candidate for a replacing my C-10 Cab (with minor modifications)? It "appears" to be dimensionally correct to my C-10, but couldn't spend a lot of time measuring. I am just comparing pictures. Any help, as always, is appreciated. Lastly, what would be an honest price for this cab? |
