Fuel Tank/ Fuel Pump

PO of my truck has moved the fuel tank to under the bed and cut a hole in the inner side of the bed wall to fill the tank. The hose that connects the filler to the tank has too much of a bend and clicks off every time I fill and it makes me lose my mind when filling up. He also has a stainless fuel cell that he had bought to replace the other setup. I want to put that cell in and redo the filler to a better location that works.

Here is where the question comes in. The fuel cell was purchased with the intention of installing a FIRST fuel injection unit so the tank has the return as well as a fuel pump for the FI. Will I be able to just cap the return and use the fuel pump in there with my carburetor set up that is in there now? This is the spec on the tank/pump/sending Unit: AC Delco EP-381. -6 supply & -6 Return (3/8 bungs & 90 degree -6 elbow to 3/8). Sending unit 0 to 90 Ohms.

Thanks for the help! I'll have a tank set up to sell once I am done.
