66 C 10 Custom Question

Hello, I was once the owner of a 1966 black C10, LB Custom cab, with large back window. It had chrome grill and front bumper, and chrome down the sides.
Also equipped with 327 2bbl and 4 speed. I regret ever selling the truck, but at the time I was going on to bigger and better on a steady basis.
My question to you fellers is, the truck had a cast iron oil pan, with a circular plate on the bottom of the pan with 8 to 12 bolts holding it on. Similar in appearance to the bottom of a VW bug engine with a strainer plate. The one on my 327 was much bigger probably 6" to 8" across, the truck also had a canister type oil filter. I described this to many people over the years and nobody was familiar with this, anyone know anything about this 327?
I always thought it was the original engine, but had no history on it before I owned it.
Thanks Greg
