about to jump into a disc brake conversion and lowering job, few last min questions
so im about to order everything to do a disc brake conversion and to lower my truck. i just want to make sure im not missing anything, and ask a question or two before i spend a **** ton of money lol
the truck in question is a 1969 c20, all stock, coil spring rear. the intent is to lower it 3.5 in the front and 6 to 7 in the rear, so the brake swap is honestly happening just to support that idea, because to be honest im pretty content with the manual drum brakes. here are the parts i have currently: 16 inch steel wheels, rotors, complete tie rod assemblies, and calipers all from a 1982 c20 suburban. and here is my list of parts im about to order: 2.5 drop spindles(from pol, for an 82 c20) inner/outer wheel bearings (82 c20) upper/lower balljoints (82 c20) brake pads (82 c20) springs(pol, 1 inch front, 6 inch rear, for a 67-72 c10) shocks(pol, 1 inch front, 5 inch rear, for a 67-72 c10) rear shock relocator kit (pol, for a 67-72) adj panhard bar (pol, 65-72 c10/c20) 1 inch rear blocks (pol, 60-72 c10/c20) 225/75r16 tires booster/master cylinder/prop valve(this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/142300152957) and what brake lines do i need to order to go from the hard lines to the calipers? does anyone see anything im missing? ive been researching this one for a good little while, and i THINK ive got everything in order, but may have overlooked something small. any other suggestions, tips, advice, opinions, etc feel free to share! |
