'56 chevy trucks - what are they worth

I have a friend who's son lost interest in restoring some '56 Chevy's. I haven't been over there yet (just heard about it last night) to see how they are, but one is almost ready to paint, with 350, TH400, big window. There are two others (rolling chassis) one that can be finished (small window,) and the other is was used for a parts truck. The guy is asking 2500 for the one that's almost ready to paint, and 1500 for the other two (one is pretty much complete w/289.) I'll get more details when I see them, but I'm just wondering if the price sounds good, and what restored ones (original restorations, and semi-show quality customs) sell for on the west coast. I've seen them range anywhere from $10-30K, with junker projects for around $3-4K. Any imput would be great.

Also, I know that with old Fords people swap Mustang II front ends, so do people do the same with the Chevy's? I've heard of Camaro front ends, but I'm not sure how hard or worthwhile that is (for a driveable hotrod) etc.

Thanks,
