Starter Alignment for 1970 Chevy C10 350V8

We recently replaced a starter motor on a 1970 Chevy C10 with a 350 V8. There were no shims on the original starter and three screws hold the starter to the bell housing. Two bolts go through the starter into the bell housing. One bolt goes from the bell housing and screws into the starter. The starter is not aligned to the fly wheel and the bendix gear is jamming into the flywheel. Looking for the methodology to align the starter to the flywheel.
