As far as the vertical felt channels on each side, mine also came from Jim Carter. I used the punched out tab at the bottom and used the existing screw holes which I think are 2 on each side. I also added a third screw on each side.
I have doubts that any kind of glue would hold that felt channel. If I was going to use glue I would probably try 3m black rubber door gasket cement like on my 67 door rubber. Once the glass is in the channels they should hold the channels out. I used no glue in the 42.
