Will a worn o2 sensor trip the check engine light?

Hello,

Looking to do some preventative maintenance on my 85' K10 with the feedback carb. I'm wondering if the o2 sensor would even trip the CEL in this obd1 truck if it was in need of replacement. Currently I have no check engine lights but since this is an older truck I'm not sure if the CEL is more of a dummy light or if it actually trips when something is out of range or spec. Any noticeable benefit of putting in a new o2 sensor with this carb truck?

Thanks
