Front upper shock mount (passenger side)
Hey Guys,
On the weekend I swapped out my shocks for the Belltech shocks that are meant to go with the springs it already has. The only issue we ran into was that the front upper shock mount on the passenger side was impossible to access, so we had to reuse the upper mount that was in there already (shank was the same size as the Belltech one so the shock is mounted/centered correctly). Drivers side we managed to do without too much trouble The exhaust and some hardline (Transmission cooler lines I think, possibly brake? can't remember, I'll get pics) prevented access to the back of the frame to remove it - and even if we'd managed to remove it, we'd never be able to tighten the replacement. Is this normal, or have my exhaust/cooler lines etc. been moved/relocated at some point? Is it vitally important that I use the belltech supplied upper mount? Or will this survive as is until I get the front end rebuilt and/or have to get the engine out for some reason? Shameless link to my (underwhelming) build thread -> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=729652 Thanks! |
