Thumbs up 1969 3 speed clutch fork keeper spring

Im working on a 69 gmc with 3 on the tree and inline 250,
and I am currently waiting on a keeper spring for my clutch fork to ship.

my question is; if i installed the clutch fork and bell housing without the keeper spring, would it really make a difference?

its definitely possible, but it seems like there is plenty of force to hold it all together with out the keeper.

thanks for the insight guys
