Front Shock Stud Frame Repair?
My driver's side upper shock stud has elongated the hole in the frame. I turned some 1/8" thick "washers" to back up both sides of the hole and I was planning on welding them in place, first by welding the inside frame rail washer on the OD and then the ID, grinding it flush with the outside of the frame rail, then possibly welding another washer on the outside of the frame rail. Seems like the only problem I might have would be the potential for cracking from all the stress cause by welding, so I thought I would ask the members of the board for some other ideas. I'm sure this must be a common problem, so what are the solutions?
