Master cylinder question

Hello all ... I just bought a new MC/booster combo from Summit and as I was inspecting it out of the box I noticed the retaining rings that hold the lid down were loose and the lid doesn't sit down tight. Is that normal? The OEM MC on my truck now is pretty tight. I don't want to install everything and have to end up taking it all off and sending it back. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
