Homemade Crossover steering question....

I did a search first and everything was for either a dana 44, Dana 60, or was to buy my kit, so.........
Hi, My name is Joe and I'm a wanderer.
I would like to do crossover steering on my 85 with a 10 bolt and 8 inches of lift. I know a need a 2wd steering box and so on so forth, but I was looking at my passenger side steering knuckle and saw there was no where to mount a mount for the drag linkage. What is the big secret? Also I will be saving money by piecing my set up together and was wonder about what to make the drag linkage out of. Any suggestions for a cheap homemade crossover, I.E. pitman arm, steering knuckle, tie rod ends, mounts.
