Long-time visitor, about to go Blue

Good winter-y morning to everyone!
Thought I'd post up here since I got the
Cart before the horse, posting replies before
a proper introduction...

I'm from Iowa, but due to job/marriages/funds,
am in Texas now and it looks like I may be staying
for quite a bit longer... going back to College for a
career change. Am a Mortician and will be pursuing
an advanced medical degree; exactly what "flavor"
Remains to be seen.

My avatar is a '78 BigTen that I am bringing back to
"New" for my son's 1st vehicle. It's bone-stock, has
A/C, P/S, 350/350TH, rubber mat floor, AM radio and
was built without a dome light. I'm the 3rd owner and
The previous 2 owners put the first 102,000 miles on him.
I "work" this truck hauling everything from brush to the
bonfire to 300# GrodybDeep freezes (1950's style) to the recycler.
In short, he gets worked like a pencil sharpener in a classroom
fulla ham-fisted third graders.

He's all original, has plaid pinstripes... nearly every direction
and on every panel and the engine bay was kept so pristine over
the years that I carry on the tradition of waxing the radiator shroud
and inner fender wells. Of course the 350 needs Better rocker-cover
gaskets, but it's got every wire, switch, choke, sensor and do-dad,
right down to the heat-riser from manifold to Air cleaner inlet.
... and has an electric choke that needs to be Told to idle Down
on cold starts. Exhaust note is barely audible, and the AM radio
picks up NewOrleans at night and also Every Powerline, regardless
of the hour.

Will NEVER be for sale because my Grandma's best friend had
a truck very similar to this, plus being from Iowa, a BigTen
isn't just a truck, it's also where our Hawkeyes handle their Business.

I'll post better pictures after I do some studying on how to pull them
Off of my phone.

This forum is the BEST Source for information and has some of the
Nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
