GMC build "Burr"

Been on the hunt for a long time 3-4 years. Finally found a truck 45 mins away 1969 GMC 2500 4spd originally 396 truck but was sold by P.O. 20ish years ago to neighbor who built cars. Now has a 1972 350 in it that runs good was rebuilt a few years back. Got the truck home today in the 18 degree weather... Battery was deader than 4 oclock so it had to be jumped then it started but front shoes were froze to the drums had to rock them free. Got it on the trailer drove it home had to push it off the trailer and jump it again then drove it to its parking spot. Plans are to degrease the engine and put new valve seals in change oil, new front brake shoes, new inner and outer rockers. Also my gas gauge lays over past full and when I close my doors and lock them and close the door the lock pops open any idea on how to fix them? Appericate any help
