Late Style Power Steering Reservoir on a 71 Clearance Issues

Hope you can help, I did some searches but may have missed the target so I figure I ask.

I am piecing my beloved '71 GMC 1500 350/350 short bed. The truck came with the third gen 73-87 accessory setup and I am reverting it back to a short water pump and alternator on the driver side, etc. etc. I have a wonderful source for used parts in town so I sourced all the proper brackets, I am so happy with that score, but they did not have a power steering pump, and I wasn't sure I wanted to buy a 45 year old part anyway.

So I went out and bought a new Power Steering Pump from O'Reilly's since online in the pictures it looked different than the one I had, especially the canister aka reservoir.
