C10 short bed/fleet side estate sale score
Hey there. I tend to hang out on the older truck side but, I was cruising craigslist one night and saw an orange/white two tone square body pop up. I really like the two tone combination on these. Unfortunately, the pictures were just of the front and back so, I could not tell if it was a short bed. I figured it must be a long bed and since we're in the middle of closing on a house, I really did not want to spend the money anyway. I emailed the seller as there was no number listed and they emailed me back the next day. The truck was a short bed and it was purchased new by their grandfather. Their father inherited it and he had recently passed away.
Needless to say, I hop in my truck to go check it out. I was blown away by the condition in person. All original down to the hubcaps. Original spare, SPID, working radio etc. It was sold new in the same city it was still in. Original paint and a very straight body. The downfall is it does have an anemic 250 straight 6/auto combo. It runs and drives but, the throttle is sticking open so, I will have to investigate that. Hoping a strong return spring will solve that. I'm curious about the SPID. What does "Carmine Spec Cust CL" mean? Icing on the cake is the delivery date was on my birthday.
