Starter issues
Hi guys, been away for a while. Just got home from a ship and am having starter trouble with the 71.
I had adjusted my timing trying to solve an idle issue and then the starter started grinding. Had the starter rebuilt, put it back in, still grinding. Went and got a new starter, still grinding. I've shimmed both ways, still grinding. Removed shims and still grinding. I can't see anything wrong with the flexplate, but bought a new one just in case. Reset my timing back to factory, just in case that was the problem since that is when it started, but I'm still grinding. Should I go ahead and replace the flexplate? Anything else I can check?
