tranny fluid pump???

my truck had been shifting funny so i was checking it out and noticed it was leaking tranny fluid. It was doing this before and when i took it in they told me that the pan was leaking and they put a new gasket on it.

this time they are saying that it is the pump seal that is leaking. $300 to get it fixed cause they have to drop the tranny out.

does this seem right?

The guy also said that i need a dust cover. where can i find one of those?
