Alternator Dilemma Without OEM Manifolds
OK, 1967 Chevy C20 with newly rebuilt 355 Gen I SBC.
Just got sorted-out the problems with power steering pump fittings for original high pressure line, (separate blog). Ordered a CPP kit to relocate the alternator bracket (like picture) because I removed the old OEM manifold with mounting bracket. Got a new updated alternator, kept original pulley for V-belt to save some money now, but kept the new alternator fan for best cooling. Now you see the next two pictures, one with complete CPP Kit, totally does not fit for the adjusting arm and will have to shim the alternator in mount for fit and alignment. So tried the adjusting arm I had and its closer, but still no joy. Ideas? I'm thinking I just need to get the clocking correct on alternator AND an adjustment arm that arches more? R/ DJ |
