CPP bent panhard bar

I just put a new CPP (bent version) panhard bar on the truck but it looks like the panhard bar is a little long. It sticks out 1/2" on the passenger side. I need to callapse the panhard bar about 1/4" to get it even. The bar is collapsed as far as possible with the locking nut in place. If I remove the locking nut I should be able to get the 1/4" I need. I think this should be fine as this is a single adjustable panhard bar. Once it's in place there is no way the length of the bar will change. Just wanted to hear any issues you guy's think removing the locking nut may cause. Thanks
