Would it be feasible? (electric steering assist)

I like to kick a lot of these ideas around in my mind. So has anyone considered putting on that new electric power steering assist on their old chevy? Maybe if you did the LS engine upgrade or something. There is some benefit to getting rid of the power steering pump. Same benefit you see by going with electric fans instead of belt driven. Should be reliable too, I have a friend with 330k miles on his car with that assist instead of a pump, and its still working fine. Might even be more reliable than the old power steering systems, I personally have had plenty of trouble out of those. So anyone done it? Anything I'm failing to consider in terms of drawbacks? You could get one off of a newer truck. I think some of the F150's have it, so I'm sure some of the GM trucks have it too.
