Newb from Winston-Salem, NC
First time caller, short time listener from Winston-Salem. I'm actually in the unincorporated County of Forsyth near Wallburg,NC so I don't have to be bullied or constrained by those loons that govern the city.
I scored a 1970 C10 form a neighbor and happened across this forums looking for info on it. Looks like a lot of great information contained within these treads. Figured I'd pipe up and say hello. The long bed pickup I purchased just to have something to make the occasions trip to Lowes, but I am super excited to have such a awesome classic ride. It contains rust and needs some work, but it runs great and I find myself looking for opportunities to drive it. It has a 3 speed on the column so I don't have to worry about the wife, kids or nearly everyone I know asking to borrow it. Manual transmissions are probably one of the best theft deterrents you can have. Looking through these treads has given me a lot of ideas. I certainly do not want a show truck, but I do need to figure out the best way to knock out the rust and get it into a condition it will be dependable last me many, many years to come. |
