Vintage Air Question - Installation - System Oil
I occasionally monkey around with A/C on diesel pickups and big trucks here at work. Typically replacing components, chasing leaks, fills and recharges, etc. Not an expert my any means but enough experience to figure them out and get them running.
I am surprised to see with my vintage air kit that it doesn't call for any oil to be added anywhere in the system during assembly/installation. The sanden compressor is marked as being prefilled with oil but I can't find in the instructions that oil is to be added anywhere else. I am used to having to add a few oz of oil to the dryer/accumulator, condenser when I rebuild/repair. A sterling truck I just worked on even had a spec for how much oil should be added to the hoses. Did I miss something or does it really go together "dry?"
