Oil pressure sender

Howdy all. I just acquired an 83' K20 with a 6.2 diesel. A lot of electrical issuses that need worked out. My question is about the oil pressure sending unit. My oil pressure gauge does not work. I have not found the sending unit and i would like to know where it is on the engine? Should it be mounted on the back of the block? Thanks for any help.
