Flipped front hanger and reverse eye spring for lowering

I’ve searched several times, but not finding any posts about this; my apologies if been covered before.

Has anyone flipped the front spring hangers upside down and had a spring shop reverse-eyed the main leafs to lower the rear of a fleetside? I lowered the rear of my ‘57 F100 this way and it worked really well. I gained the drop without the need to c-notch the frame.

I’ve looked at the set-up on my ‘68 GMC short bed and it looks like I’ll have to notch the bed crossmember, but that’s the only clearance issue I see.

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s done this to their truck.
