Are there alternatives to the side trim?

I'd like to add the side trim that I see on many of the 71-72 Chevy suburbans. I think it just makes these look 'right' and mine does not have it.

I found this:

$600 is a bit tough to swallow right now. Has anyone found a less expensive alternative? My rig is already far from stock/original, so its okay if it isn't exactly the same, but I would like something of a similar width that is aluminum and black.

Thank you.
