My trucks Story

Thought I would share this. I grew up with Chevy's and decided to build a glamour truck about 10 years or so ago. The local fire department had one that was rust free and patina red with a faded logo. 1968 Longbed with a 327/powerslide in it and it was the fire chiefs. Had ALL the paperwork but the factory had put a 350 in when it had problems in 1970. Anyway, I was going to clear coat it and put nice wheels on it since the patina was great but the logo was still current which meant it was an official rig so I had to paint it. About a year into it I found a farm that had 15-20 glamour trucks and the owner showed me a 67 short box step side 4 wheel drive with a 6 in it. He started it for me and it drove fine. He wanted $1700 but I was already into my 68 and I like the fleetside line better but someways I wonder if I passed up on a rare truck.

I also learned that restoration is everything you can think of multiplied by 3 and I am still not done.

Anyway, that is the one I missed but I wanted to build a truck for me and I just couldn't get past not having the fleet side. But it was a shortbox four wheel drive. Dang.
