'67 -'72 GM Corporate Marketing Department item

I think this piece of memorabilia is pretty cool, so I hope it is OK to post for others to enjoy. My neighbor's husband retired from Chevrolet as a marketing executive in Detroit. She recently gave me boxes of his stuff that she did not want to keep around. In the box I found this novel marketing item or award from the era our trucks were sold new. It is a balance scale with a weight representing a whole truck and then little weights representing the individual components that make our trucks special. When you place all the components on one side of the balance and the truck on the other, they balance out! As for the components, I think I see a differential, an engine, the front suspension, the unit body cab, transmission and floor pan.

Can anybody shed any light or background on this desk topper? How do you think it was used? Pretty cool anyway.
