Space-saver garage seating
So the wife (thankfully!) enjoys hanging out in the shop while I'm working, but with two project cars space is at a premium and seating has been an issue. Fortunately, the other day I had a super idea - grabbed a 2003 ext-cab Silverado rear seat at the local U-Pull and knocked together a quick bracket for it:
Had to shorten the driver's side hinge a bit, but it's now bolted in place, folds up and locks just like in the truck. I have good clear space beneath and it's only 11" thick when folded, which is narrower than my cabinets and shelves. Now I have seating for up to three when I need it, which is out of the way the rest of the time. And best part, significant other approved
