Flipping centers on GM transporter wheels
After reading through all 13 pages of green Gus build I think I’d like to do the same and have the rear centers cut and flipped on my transport wheels. I really like the look and think I should get as much rubber as possible in the rear with the power I’m expecting (well at least as aesthetically pleasing as possible)
I see green Gus flipped the centers and added spacers with longer bolts in the axles. I already have spacers from the previous owner and can easily press out and swap in the longer bolts. I haven’t found a good, step by step diy on flipping the centers to change the back space so I’m really hesitant to start chopping my wheels apart. Does anyone know of such a diy or know of a reputable shop in the Milwaukee/Chicago area?
On the spacers, if they don’t mate the wheel center bore with the axle center bore I really don’t want to use them. It seems that center bore would really add strength to the wheel on the axle.
