Blitz Black + Rustoleum CHEAP-O paint job
I couldn't resist. A nice Paintshop job was not in my budget. I have seen a lot of nice pics of cars painted with John Deere Blitz Black paint, especially MARKEB01's truck! I really like the Satin Black look.
Also have seen a number of folks who used Rustoleum to get a nice job. What really made the difference was MARKEB01's suggestion to use an Auto Enamel reducer to "upgrade" the paint. On this job I used NANOSKIN Slow Reducer and Valspar Enamel Hardener. The Blitz Black was mixed 8:1:1 as suggested by Mfg. The magic mix for me on the Rustoleum (Sunrise Red) was 8:3:1, and it really flowed out smooth. I used a Harbor Freight Purple HVLP gun, 40PSI. Sprayed over a Lacquer based primer. This is the first time I sprayed a car or even attempted bodywork. I am happy with the outcome, and the body finally matches the interior. Weather's been crappy since I finished, so I will post more pics of it completely re-assembled after I get a chance to wash it and take better pics.
