New Exhaust Manifolds hitting starter - any ideas?

I bought a pair of cast exhaust manifolds from Summit - I installed them and noticed they hug the block pretty tight. I tried putting the starter in and found that the manifold actually hits the starter.

Link to the manifolds I bought:

These summit manifolds appear to be a copy of the popular Hooker Manifolds many people are using.

Any ideas? Do I need to use a different starter instead? It looks like maybe if I took the heat shield off the starter it may barely clear, but not crazy about that idea- I searched and didnt find much on this issue.
