Interior Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've been brainstorming for quite a while on what I'm going to do with my interior when it come time (possibly this winter). My question is...... is all that metal skeleton behind the dash a structural part of the dash or could I cut it out and build a brand new dash completly out of fibreglass? I going to have a pretty wild interior when complete

Also wheres a good place to get a chrome steering column for our trucks? How is it supported in the cab?

sorry for the questions...... if I didn't need my truck for a daily driver it would be torn apart right now.

Side Note:
I also might be making one of those "guage pods" hope it turns out
