Driveline issues

OK I知 going from a small block 350 long wheel Bass to a 454 in the same truck so we tried to put the driveline in and obviously I knew the motor had moved back we could almost get it all the way in but there will be no space for the yoke to go inside of the tranny so I知 going to cut the driveline down in the front portion of it in front of the carrier bearing so my question is how much gap should I have between the tail shaft of my tranny and the Botom of the yoke I was thinking about cutting off 1 1/2 inch
