4L80E - what do I need to salvage from a donor truck?
I have a 92 GMC 2500, with a 454 and 4L80E. I plan to pull both and put them into my 81 (which already has a 454, and a TH350). What do I need to keep out of the 92 before I scrap it?
I'll be using an aftermarket controller. As I understand it, I can use the stock shift linkage in the 81 to make the 4L80 work. I'd assume there's a transmission cooler on the 92 (I'm not looking at it right now and it's too cold to do anything outside anyway). Can I use that? Is there anything else I should have? The motor should swap over pretty easily, I'm not too worried about that.
