Master Cylinder Leaking Out of Top

Fluid is leaking out of the top of my master cylinder when I step on the brakes, on my ‘83. Enough leaked that the front bowl was almost empty. I can see the gasket for the lid is a little messed up. There are no other leaks and I can see where all of the fluid has been leaking under the master. My plan is to replace the lid and gasket. Could this be a sign of any other issues or do you think replacing the lid and gasket should solve the problem?

Thanks
Doug
