Question about carpet

I'm almost ready to buy carpet for my 68 IH T-all and would appreciate help before I do this so I can get it right the first time.
All the searching I've done on this site seems to suggest that I get carpet with mass backing? Is this correct?
I'm thinking of getting Noico 80 mil sound barrier and Reflectex for heat barrier.
Wouldn't the thickness of the heat and sound barrier along with mass backing cause the carpet to be too high so it wouldn't fit under the door trim??
Any other help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll be installing this myself so I'm pretty pumped about this.
Thanks!!
Joe
