So, to make a long story short, I gave up on doing body work myself and found a local guy that does great work and was interested in helping out. I took him the parts in pieces and he did the paint/body work, then I took the finished parts back to my shop for reassembly. It worked out better than I expected.

Body man talked me into a different cab (much less rust), different doors (much less rust), new hood and front fenders. Only ended up using the bed, grill, and cowl panel from the body of the original truck.
