shift rod and speedo cable

anyone have interference with headers and column shifted automatic shift rod? in gear, the rod hits the header, and at certain rpm rattles like crazy! drives my freakin nuts! tried to bend it, just a little, but rod seemed like it was happy in the same it is. can't seem to get anything behind it to dimple the header, and it hits from first to drive in different places.

also, speedo cable rattles and needle bounces around. can this be fixed with new cable? or is it the adapter? i think my adapter houseing is cracked (TH350, NP205) as it swings about 5 degrees either way. is it a common part? any clue on $$?

thanks!
