Got carb, now what?

I'm installing a carter carburator (Just like edelbrock) I got from board member 70c10 (Great guy to deal with btw) and I've just got a few questions. My old Holly was manual choke so I know I've got to run a wire from fuseblock to choke that is hot with key, but what guage wire and do I need to put an inline fuse with it. Also, what about linkage connection. My throttle cable, and detent cable, and springs don't look to smooth so far. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jeremy.
