Drop spindles rub wheels??

Just installed one side of a pair of Western 2.5" drop spindles on the '66 C10. It already had 1972 crossmember and front disks on it. The new spindles contact the inside of the wheel. The wheels are 15x8 Torque Thrust II's. With the old factory spindles it cleared fine. I have not increased the rotor size and I'm using the same calipers. It appears that the top and bottom brake caliper ears are the only spots that are rubbing. There's lots of meat there, so I think I'll just get out the grinder and "fix" the problem. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem.
