Altman latches and electric locks

I have the Altman latches installed on the 48, and I used the original door key lock on the rider's side. It will lock and unlock with the key, but then there is no way to lock the driver's side.

So I got electric locks (not installed yet) and when testing the rider's side realized the key door lock won't let the electric locking mechanism to move the Altman lock on the door.

If I disconnect the key door lock, then the electrics will work on both doors, but the only way to unlock/lock is with the electric and if the battery goes bad, what do you do?

So what have others done?
