Tilt column & normal column compatibility

Hi Guys,

I have some problems with the tilt column I have now in the Burb I bought last year , the upper bearing ( or should I say "bushing" ? ) was already toast when I bought it , the steering wheel flies in all directions.

I still have a normal ( read : no tilt ) column I took from my C-10 , is that upper bushing/bearing the same & can it be easily removed & replaced ?

If no , has anyone an idea where I should buy one ( apparently not by the "columnowhateverlogist"... ) , any idea about partnumber & $$$ ?

Are the two different columns just "bolt-ons" ( I mean electrically , are the connectors the same ? ) in those trucks , knowing that the C-10 is from 1979 and had no "Cruise Control" and the Burb is from 1987 and has "Cruise"

Thanks

the Baron
