reving so high
hey guys and gals when i drive my truck to work its reving really high when im on the highway and im only going about 55-60.... 454/ th400 trans... i have no idea what the gear ratios are in the back... but anyway... i think the tranny might be getting old and it may need a rebuild... it does tend to slip occasionally but only when i am reving about 2000 rpms from a stop... but the main thing is the engine rpm.... i dont like making my truck scream for 20 minutes straight just to get to work...not fun for me or for gas... im gonan swap an ovrdrive but i cant afford the driveshaft cut and balance(moneys really tight)... have everything else.. so ya.. what should i do ya'll.... thanks for the help
