63 Panel is ready for an operational test!
I discovered when registering my panel that I purchased it 13 years ago (from a yard in AZ). It sat for a couple of years, but I have been tinkering with it on and off for a long time. Several other projects have come and gone, but this one has endured!
Body-off frame restoration, rebuilt and warmed over 350, 700R4, Silverado seats (with integral seat belts), disc brake front end from a 71 C-10, and a steering column from a 76 C10. New wiring, gas tank, shocks, aluminum radiator, brake lines, etc. I also converted it to clamshell rear doors. Still has considerable "patina" and the interior needs to be done, but we will find out if it is a driver today! Fingers crossed Parenthetically, I installed new Kadron carbs on my 73 VW Panel (2.0 engine) and was so excited about how it ran I decided to try taking it over our local bridge. Carbs worked great. Electric fuel pump crapped out 1/3 of the way over the bridge. Very exciting and very expensive tow |
