Firewall insulation

I am getting the cab insulated (fat mat) and am thinking about an alternative to the cardboard/jute insulating mat that was factory. Neoprene wet suit type material would be great with the fat mat underneath and I think would look good.

I have seen adhesive neoprene, but it looks like foam rather than the stuff they would make a wet suit out of. Anyone try this alternative type material to the original stuff? I filled all the holes and would have to glue down the original type so think about something else
