I would stay away from soda blasting , I know when I spoke with PPG reps and also barry at SPI ,I was told do not soda blast , appantly if you do not remove 100% of the soda film you will definitly have adhesion problems and you paint will fail. SPI told me that there is no way to get your metal 100% free of the film ,he said there is just no way you can get in all the places the media blaster got to. also PPG told me that soda blasting will not remove any rust if you have rust in any area the soda will not remove it.
