Having a hard time saying no...
My 1998 K2500HD ECLB loaded Silverado was bought by my dad in March of 2004. In May of that year we put the 6” RCD lift on it and some Mickey Thompson wheels and rubber. He had it until October 2011 at which point I bought it from him. I’ve put about 35,000 miles on it since then including 3 times cross country. It’s now got about 200,000 on it with the original vortec 454 and 4l80e both of which have never been out of it. The drive train as a whole has never been touched save a few hub seals and general maintenance. It’s only been 3,000 miles in the last 5 years and with that I’ve been thinking about letting it go to pay some bills off and getting out of debt. I don’t really want to sell it because it is super reliable and I have a lot of great memories with my dad in it and as he lives 2000 miles away from me it’s like having a bit of home here with me. The dash is starting to crack out pretty bad and the paint is starting to peel, the drivers ext cab corner has a rust hole like the all seem to these days. So I get on KBB and see it’s worth at best 35-4500. I say to my self well I’ll put it up for sale at 7K then I can say I tried and no one wanted it and I’ll hang onto it for a little longer....then I got an offer for 6K in benjamins yesterday. It’s gonna be hard to let this one go if I decide to pull the trigger. I asked the guy to give me a day or two to mull it over. Got a lot of thinking to do in a short amount of time. If I do sell it I’ll take a grand or so and dump it into my K20 so I’ve got a truck ready for a little work here and there, hauling fire wood, runs to the dump etc. I should probably add a motivating factor for getting out of debt is I want to buy a 14/15 Z28 camaro to compliment my current SS. I got the late model camaro bug bad these days.
