Grandpas '69 C30

I finally convinced my grandma to let me buy grandpa's 1969 C30 that hasn't ran in years. Many of my cousins attempted to claim it over the years, but she has resisted all offers on it until now. It is a short bed step side which has been sitting in an open barn since it was parked. My mom says hasn't moved since the early 80's. It is the vehicle that she learned to drive with.

I am planning to immediately pull the current 350 that is in there and get a crate (w/ Vortec heads) from JEGS and swap it in. I figure with it sitting for 30+ years this would be the best option to getting it running. I'm planning to replace the clutch while I am in there, the entire fuel system, and wiring harness to hopefully get this thing road worthy. I will be keeping the original (saddle) paint with the patina, stock height, almost stock everything appearance wise. I will be adding some sort of radio with bluetooth capability and air conditioning (Texas) when I get a chance.

I have had a few projects over the years including a 1976 Dodge Powerwagon and a 1979 Jeep Wagoneer. This is my first Chevy and will be my first time tackling anything like a motor swap, but I am good with tools and I am not afraid of projects like this.

I love woodworking and my current civic isn't the best for trips to get lumber. I can't wait to throw a load of walnut into the wood bed. I'll be putting a lot of pictures up of the restore on my woodworking instagram page @SgtStumps.

There will be many questions coming as soon as I pick it up in Arkansas and haul it down.
